Joselito Altarejos‘ Sinag Maynila 2019 Box Office Awardee Jino To Mari will be the closing film of the 26th Annual Filipino International Cine Festival and Competition (FACINE) this October 20, 2019, 6:30PM at the Roxie Theater in 3117-16th Street, San Francisco, California, USA. It can be recalled that the film took home three other awards, including Best Actress (Angela Cortez), Best Screenplay (Joselito Altarejos and John Bedia), and Best Musical Score (Richard Gonzales). The provocative morality tale will be screened among other widely acclaimed films from other recent festivals, including Khavn de la Cruz‘s Balangiga: Howling Wilderness and Dwein Baltazar’s Gusto Kita With All My Hypotalamus.
Established in 1993, the Filipino Arts & Cinema, International or FACINE, is a nonprofit media arts organization committed to develop and promote Filipino-American media arts and advance the interests of cinemas from the Philippines and the Filipino diaspora. Last year’s festival included four (4) former Sinag Maynila entries, including another Altarejos film, Tale of the Lost Boys.
