2020 Mechanics

FOR FULL-LENGTH CATEGORY
1. Download and fill out the Official Entry Form.
2. Synopsis of the film should not be more than 200 words.
3. Spoken language of the film must be in English, Filipino, or any Philippine dialect and should be subtitled in English.
4. Applicants shall provide three (3) printed copies of the submitted screenplay.
5. Submitted screenplay should be complete/finished.
6. Include Sequence Breakdown, if available.
7. Total Running Time of the final film, once produced, should not exceed 120 Minutes (2 hours).
8. Applicants should submit their curriculum vitaes with filmography (single-spaced, not more than 2 pages), together with their two (2) recent 2X2 photos.
9. Entries from abroad will only be accepted as long as they are written, directed, or produced by filmmakers of Filipino descent. Subject matter of the film should also be relevant to Filipino culture.

Deadline of submissions for full length screenplays is on August 29, 2019.

 

FOR SHORT FILM AND DOCUMENTARY CATEGORIES 
1. Download and fill out the Official Entry Form
2. Synopsis of the film should not be more than 200 words.
3. Maximum running time, inclusive of opening and closing credits, is as follows:

SHORT FILM: 15 minutes
DOCUMENTARY: 30 minutes

4. Spoken language of the film must be in English, Filipino, or any Philippine dialect and should be subtitled in English.
5. Music used for the film must be original, licensed, or in the public domain
6. The complete and final entry should be in HD or SD data format (MP4, MOV or AVI).
7. The entry should not have been previously exhibited as part of any local film festival or film competition.
8. Soft copies of the following marketing collaterals should also be submitted:

Official poster (27″ X 40″ layout)
Official trailer (not more than 2 minutes)
Behind-the-scenes photos (in jpeg format)
Assorted stills and screen captures (in jpeg format)
Title art

9. Applicants should submit their curriculum vitaes with filmography (single-spaced, not more than 2 pages), together with their two (2) recent 2X2 photos.
10. Entries from abroad will only be accepted as long as they are written, directed, or produced by filmmakers of Filipino descent. Subject matter of the film should also be relevant to Filipino culture.

Deadline for Short Film and Documentary Entries is on December 31, 2019. 

 

FOR LOCAL (PHILIPPINE-BASED) APPLICANTS: 
Submit your entries and other documents in a long brown envelope properly labeled “FOR SINAG MAYNILA”, along with the director’s name, title of film, category, and director’s contact details.

OPTIONS FOR APPLICANTS OUTSIDE THE PHILIPPINES:
1.) FOR FULL-LENGTH CATEGORY: E-mail the latest, finished draft of the screenplay in PDF format to [email protected], along with other required documents. Include sequence breakdown, if available.
2.) FOR SHORT FILM AND DOCUMENTARY CATEGORY: E-mail a password-protected download link to the final edit of the film, and attach scanned copy of accomplished entry form and complete requirements as specified to [email protected] OR upload final edit of the film in either MP4, MOV, or AVI format together with soft copies of complete requirements on Google Drive and send to [email protected]
3.) NO SHIPPING of physical copies from abroad.
